Merlot has been given a bad rap as of late but there is no denying that it is making a resurgence.
The 07 Peller Estates Private Reserve Merlot, is easy to drink and at around $12 its easy on the wallet.
Lots of fruit, subtle chocolate and very approachable tannins.
If you’re not into tannic Bordeaux style varieties this is a great alternative

This trip was awesome. It didnt get much more serious then this. But the food and wine kept getting better.
Andrew Cowan, Matt Phillips and I had alot of fun doing this event. I look forward to doing it again next year.

Awesome Alma Negra Malbec from Mendoza Argentina for around 27 bucks its a steal of a deal. Sexy label as well.
Cannonball California Cab Sav also amazing value at 23, easily tastes like its twice the price.
